SMM, 7–10.09.2010 – Hamburg, Hall B2.EG, Stand 232

Town, country, river, oceans - the vehicle concepts of the TII Group (SCHEUERLE, NICOLAS, KAMAG) master logistics routes on almost any terrain.

The world market leaders in the production of heavy load and special vehicles are professionals when it comes to moving heavy loads on locations that are hard to access. On public roads or rough terrain as well as on-site plant operations, vehicles from SCHEUERLE, NICOLAS and KAMAG prove their worth on a daily basis. For transportation in shipyards or the offshore industry, the TII Group offers a broad product portfolio to meet a wide range of requirements: from small sections to megablocks, individual components to complete ships and oil platforms. Pulled vehicle units are likewise available as self-propelled heavy load units which handle loads of 16,000 tonnes and more when coupled together. In 2009, for example, more than 15,000 tonnes was moved on module transporters (SPMTs) from SCHEUERLE and KAMAG during a spectacular project in Norway thus setting a new world record in the process.

Special shipyard transporters from KAMAG (Type 1400), NICOLAS as well as the SHT series from SCHEUERLE have modernized the transport of individual ship sections up to complete ships in the shipbuilding industry. Extreme loads of 1,000 tonnes and more can be moved with only one vehicle. By combining individual vehicles, loads of 6,000 tonnes have already been transported. The precise steering response, sensitive drive and the powerful lifting hydraulics make shipyard transporters from the TII Group an indispensable element of cost-effective and functional logistics in the shipbuilding industry.

SPMT – "The Original"
No other transport vehicle has revolutionized the world of heavy transport in such a way as the SPMT (self-propelled modular transporter) from SCHEUERLE. Even the term "SPMT" - originally coined by SCHEUERLE -  has developed world-wide into a product term and which, in the meantime, has even established itself on a global basis as the generic term for self-propelled modular transport vehicles. The use of SCHEUERLE SPMTs in connection with SCHEUERLE-developed control technology allows precision-positioning of the heaviest of loads. This means seawater desalination and oil exploration plants, offshore platforms, ship sections, submarines and complete ships, among other things up to 16.000 tons and more, can be transported both safely and reliably to the place of destination. In the future, SCHEUERLE SPMTs will be available according to customers´ requirements in the proven third generation as well as the new fourth generation. For the new SPMT generation, both the platforms and the complete wheeled bogies are manufactured with high precision by robots which have been developed especially for SCHEUERLE -  and have thus been optimised from a technical and delivery time point of view. In contrast to the existing third generation with an axle load of 40 tonnes, the new generation has an axle load of 48 tonnes with the use of foamed-filled tyres (polyfill) or super-elastic (solid) tyres.

Sister companies, KAMAG Transporttechnik and NICOLAS Industrie, also have decades of experience in the development and production of self-propelled modular transporters. The products of all 3 companies combine all those characteristics which are required to ensure success in the challenging shipyard logistics sector: reliability, extreme high load-bearing capacity, state-of-the art control technology, safety during operations as well as tested and durable components. The individual modular transporters can be coupled together as required, can also be coupled mechanically or be arranged in an open formation on an area up to 600 x 600 m.

Out of the sea and on to the road
A comprehensive range of transport vehicles for public roads are likewise available from the TII Group. The new SCHEUERLE-KAMAG K25, the Combi series from SCHEUERLE as well as the MDEL of NICOLAS are experts in the area of the safe road transportation. Ship sections, complete ships or yachts can be unloaded directly from the pontoon by means of the platform vehicles and then immediately begin their journey. The modular construction offers an extensive choice of transportation solutions which are realised on the platform trailers in 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8-axle versions. These can be coupled both longitudinally and laterally.

The SCHEUERLE Combi series proves itself time and time again in daily operations. The SCHEUERLE pendulum axle technology provides not only maximum manoeuvrability for the EuroCombi, FlatCombi as well as InterCombi with a 60-degree steering angle, but is also designed for the demanding use in long distance transportation on the road.

The SCHEUERLE KAMAG K25 is an innovative vehicle concept that is based on the new, uniform development platform of the TII Group. With the K25, an absolute new autonomous platform trailer has been created which differs from previous platform trailers of the TII Group. Benefits such as the strongest bending moment on the market, largest oil volume of its class, freely accessible steering rods, reinforced lamellar coupling and wear-resistant construction, makes the K25 an incomparable product which sets new benchmarks in the heavy transport industry. Only the numerous models as well as the auxiliary equipment are identical. The product range includes the K25 FR (Self Propelled), SPE (Self Propelled Electronically Steered), PB (Power Booster), SL (Split Type), ES (Extra Strong) and UL (Ultra Light).

If platform height and weight are the decisive criteria, the new SCHEUERLE-KAMAG K22 is the most suitable means of transport. Low, wide, extremely high load capacity and extraordinarily manoeuvrable. These are the main features of the new K22 series. With a minimum platform height of 770 mm when fully lowered, tall loads in particular - in spite of being directly loaded on the platform trailers - can be driven under, for example, bridges and  high voltage transmission lines without any problems.

From the road on to the sea
SCHEUERLE, NICOLAS and KAMAG provide a wide range of possibilities for the transport of off-shore wind power stations.  Beginning with off-shore “jackets” and tripods through to individual wind power plant components, the TII Group has the most appropriate solution with its products.

At this year´s SMM in Hamburg, an expert team from SCHEUERLE, NICOLAS and KAMAG will be on hand to inform you about the aforementioned as well as numerous other products. Come and see for yourself the innovative strength of the companies and visit the TII Group stand in Hall B2.EG, Stand 232.
